The Argyle Area Community Garden, Gardening in Jacksonville, Florida
The Argyle Area Community Garden is interested in Creating sustainable community and abundant health through reconnecting with the land. Our food travels 1,500-2,000 miles from picking to our plate. It's picked early, before ripening, industrial farmed with lots of chemicals and fuel. 80 percent of the food money goes to transportation and related costs, with only 7 percent to the farmer. It is our intention to switch to fresh, picked when ripe, full of live enzymes, pesticide and chemical free food from your garden plot, and educate our community. We're looking for local gardeners with an interest in organic gardening, bees, substainability, plot construction, canning, solar energy, and construction. Gardeners of all skill levels are welcome to join and learn We look forward to seeing you!
