The Argyle Area Community Garden, Gardening in Jacksonville, Florida
Our Goals for the Future: We're drawing up our plans and brainstorming to make the Argyle Area Community Garden self-sufficient and organic. We're just starting, but here are some of our goals for the future...
Educating Youth: Field trips and hands-on experience are excellent learning tools that a child never forgets. We're reaching out to local schools, we want to teach children where their food comes from and why protecting our environment is so important through hands-on activities and learning programs.
Volunteer Programs: High School students need volunteer hours for scholarships like the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. We want to give students the opportunity to earn volunteer hours at our garden.
Community Garden Training: Garden problems? Ask the experts! We want to hold Garden Training Sessions, open to anyone who wants to attend, where we'll give organic gardening tips, tricks, and techniques.
We're always open to suggestions. Please send us an e-mail if you have any ideas, or you want to contribute. We communicate through our Meet Up Group. Feel free to join us.
